GWA: The League of Red-Headed Men

I like ginger hair on men. I like it so much that I gave my hero Ash in Wildwood hair like this:

This is a bit of a maverick attitude, at least in this country where ginger men are very often regarded as lurking somewhere on the scale of Ugly to Deformed Freaks (Women are generally not castigated for having red hair although there's a surprising amount of vitriol aimed at "the ginger one in Girls Aloud"). But I love hair and I love blokes with dramatic appearances. So I thought I'd post some Purty Pictures of men with red hair today.

Actors Eric Stotlz...

... and Seth Green. Call it heresy but I'd choose Oz over Angel or Spike any day.

This is singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner:

Singer/comedian Tim Minchin:

Illusionist Derren Brown:

Dante Vale, magical superhero (Sorry, bit of a nerd-attack there):

And these guys aren't famous for anything I know about but are still cute:

Last word goes to Tim Minchin and his song about the "G Word". (Which btw I am allowed to use because I'm a genuine redhead too. And I could prove it ... But I'm not going to!)

Well, I have it bad for red-headed gals, so I can relate.

Such a fine tribute, enhanced by the foray into ginger-lock geekdom.

Oh, I like red-headed women too! (Is that narcisistic d'you think?)

It's a lot easier to find picures of female red-heads...

Not narcissistic at all. Just good taste. :-)

And it is true, praise of red-headed women is much more forthcoming in our society than for men, making your tribute here even more remarkable!

Not to toot my own horn, but I have featured red-headed men in some of my stories...

Toot toot!

Ginger is fine but I think dreadlocks look like SPIDERS!

Count me in on the thumbs-up for red hair! Helia is a redhead—though the color isn't as bright as it used to be, and she would tell you that her membership in the League is now merely an honorary one.

People have funny stereotypes about redheads, eh?—for example, that they're hot-tempered. Helia is the opposite of that; yet a stranger once remarked to her, "I'm so angry right now, I should have your red hair!"

I think there should be a world red-headed convention where we can all go and look fabulous (and Craig can get a visitor's pass!)

Ummm, Man Candy Wednesday! This was a real treat - and I almost missed it because I was so busy today. Thank you Janine!

Gorgeous pics! I'm all for gingers.

I was just googling for something completely unrelated and thought of your post after stumbling across this fabulous book cover - proof redheaded men are insane, evil freaks with mad towers of love!

No wonder I like 'em.

Woah!! Those are some ginger pubes. Non famous guy number two speaks so strongly to my vampire fetish I may just run off and write a fanfic about him.

And one of those non famous guys is a British actor who might be sad you think he's not famous :)

I think it's an anti Irish thing, personally :D

C'mon Jo - who is it? I thought it might be Charles Dance but couldn't tell from the context of the photo.

Um, third last guy, but I can't remember his name. He usually plays sneering rich men.
