Sweet moderation, heart of this nation

We've got a general election tomorrow - so what better time for a bit of Billy Bragg?

(Mr Bragg is a singer-songwriter and political activist who is, by UK standards, a sweetly old-fashioned idealistic leftie. By US standards this puts him somewhere south of Satan, I believe.)

Me? I'm hoping for a hung parliament that ushers in proportional representation. I'd like my vote to count, for once in my life.

I love Billy Bragg - must get myself down to the Tolpuddle Martyrs festival again this year :).

And yes, PR is SO long overdue. 60% of the votes in my constituency were wasted last time. It's ludicrous.

So right on, Janine! I'm bracing myself for a long session with the Swingometer tomorrow night.

Yay! Billy Bragg! He did a great performance here in Canada on a local children's television program. I did a bit of a double take at first, not quite believing it was really him. But it was and he was all kinds of awesome.

And happy voting, btw. Things sound like they're kind of crazy, politics-wise, across the pond there.

Justine - I'm sitting up with the Charlie brooker/Jimmy Carr/David Mitchell election special, heh heh. Two of my all-time most sarcastic comedy crushes, so even if the results piss me off I'll be happy.

In the meantime, Wintersinger, I am picturing Billy Bragg singing to schoolchildren about the workers' control of the means of production and the inevitable revolution...
How subversive is that, eh?
:-)

Actually, he was really well behaved:
