...And then I went straight back to bed.

Oh Janine, that's simply stunning!

Thank you for setting the alarm and hauling your cookies out of bed to snap this beauty. For your trouble, I'll link you to me (my blog, silly). :-)

Happy Solstice!

Did you actually watch the sun rise? I did that once at Stonehenge - it was flippin freezing!

Sorry to disappoint - I watched the sun rise at 4.30 am from my front doorstep, not from Stonehenge. I did Stonehenge 2 years back and it was a weird and wonderful experience (the official stuff they tell you about not letting people in to touch the stones is rubbish: there were people clambering all over the stones, drumming and smoking and chatting, there was someone there with a live owl). But the journey there and back was really uncomfortable so it'll be a few years before I'm tempted back. There were 36,500 people there this year, according to the news, so it's pretty crowded.

Yes - I thought the stones would be protected and was quite stunned to see that everyone was crawling all over them! It was amazing, but that one is in my 'done it once; don't need to do it again' file.

You do such interesting things, Janine. Makes me blush to think of Felix and I in the Dominican...
well...we did see some spectacular sunsets.

I'm sure you and Felix did things that would make the rest of us blush Madeline!

Yes, happy solstice!

(Although I saw the sunrise without actually *wanting* to. I thought I woke up at half four on Sunday because I drank too much tea the night before, but maybe it was synchronised psychic druid alarms? I might have to have a word.)
