Merlin mumbles

Two beardy reasons I'm still watching BBC teen drama Merlin: villainous king Cenred (above) and heroic Gwaine (below).

I fancy Gwen too, come to that.

There's also always the prospect of rah totty Arthur wandering around in a transparent shirt abusing his jug-eared servant Merlin ... but damn, he's so young. I feel embarrassed!

And of course there's Anthony Head as Uther Pendragon. In fact, turn the sound off, so you can just admire the lovely visuals and forget the gaping plot holes and clunky characterisation, and it's a  pretty good series.

Hee. The horse is handsome too. A good accessory.

Oh yes. Watching this on iPlayer later. The bad King is my favourite (natch).

Horses make awesome accessories!

There's a LOT of eyecandy in Merlin, isn't there Justine? It's very very deliberate - the series is aimed at the family teatime demographic and it has clearly had a shedload of cash spent on it. Sticking loads of beautiful characters in it makes sure there's someone for everyone, from middle-aged dads to impressionable young girls who fancy jug-eared geeks, to, um, randy erotica writers like us.
I'm not complaining. I'd just like the stories to be better written!

Ah yes! Back to the Robin of Serwood ethic! That was great tea time viewing for all our family. I think it's a good ploy.

Janine... you should send them something... I knew a woman who became a Buffy writer that way...
