Rain down on me...

Eeek. I've volunteered to do a 2-hour guided walk on the subject of Tree Folklore - this afternoon - for a local charity. It's taken me the best part of two weeks to prepare. And right now it's pissing it down. I suspect it's going to be just me and the trees. *sigh*

I know Danielle was out last night ... and now I'm thinking he's only just come in.

And also, why is he talking to you and ignoring me? Hmmmm ;)

That's a gorgeous picture but it's not real, - is it? I always want them to be real.

I hope the day clears up for you, it sounds so good, your talk.

Wicked photo!! And for the record, if I lived anywhere near you, I'd go to your talk, I love trees too!

Good luck, you'll do great! x

Sadly, the picture looks photoshopped to me - but it's still a nice piece of dryad art. Thanks for your good wishes, everyone. I have my fingers crossed!

I'd come on the walk but I suspect it would be a 2-3 hour drive to get there! Good luck - these things are often more popular than you'd imagine, even in the rain.

I'd be happy to read your lecture on trees - I know you've got notes, somewhere.

And true tree lovers will not be deterred by a little rain.

I once dated a guy who had a red nose when he picked me up. I asked what happened. He said he got a sliver in his nose. I asked how that happened.

Yup. You guessed it. He had actually been hugging a tree. Now that I see the picture of a tree on your blog, I think I understand. I guess my friend really got a 'woody'. hahahah

Walk successfully completed, and I talked till it felt like my jaw was dislocated. Small but brave group defied the rain :-)

I'm glad it went well. Small groups are no bad thing, it means you can make more of a connection with the people there.

It was fun! And I got over my nerves eventually...
