Eeek. I've volunteered to do a 2-hour guided walk on the subject of Tree Folklore - this afternoon - for a local charity. It's taken me the best part of two weeks to prepare. And right now it's
pissing it down. I suspect it's going to be just me and the trees. *sigh*
oh damn..thats not nice..i hate rain ..well..i dont when im not outside..hm..okay sometimes i like rain too when i m outside..but thats only when its warm and i am..errr*..i m loosing the subject..anyway..damnfor the rain who p**** on your parade...BUt..i totally love that picture..did u take it yourself? is that tree lady in your neighbourhood? can i have her number..uhm...wtf..i meant..nice pic!!!
ReplyDeleteI know Danielle was out last night ... and now I'm thinking he's only just come in.
ReplyDeleteAnd also, why is he talking to you and ignoring me? Hmmmm ;)
That's a gorgeous picture but it's not real, - is it? I always want them to be real.
I hope the day clears up for you, it sounds so good, your talk.
Wicked photo!! And for the record, if I lived anywhere near you, I'd go to your talk, I love trees too!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, you'll do great! x
Sadly, the picture looks photoshopped to me - but it's still a nice piece of dryad art. Thanks for your good wishes, everyone. I have my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI'd come on the walk but I suspect it would be a 2-3 hour drive to get there! Good luck - these things are often more popular than you'd imagine, even in the rain.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to read your lecture on trees - I know you've got notes, somewhere.
ReplyDeleteAnd true tree lovers will not be deterred by a little rain.
I once dated a guy who had a red nose when he picked me up. I asked what happened. He said he got a sliver in his nose. I asked how that happened.
Yup. You guessed it. He had actually been hugging a tree. Now that I see the picture of a tree on your blog, I think I understand. I guess my friend really got a 'woody'. hahahah
Walk successfully completed, and I talked till it felt like my jaw was dislocated. Small but brave group defied the rain :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it went well. Small groups are no bad thing, it means you can make more of a connection with the people there.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! And I got over my nerves eventually...
