I was one who kind of dismissed the grunge movement when it came out in the early 90's. It wasn't until my son, who was just a baby when it was in its full swing, got into it in recent years that I explored beyond the best known songs of the era.
I love this song, but I must say, it would be worth your while to delve a little deeper into Pearl Jam's catalog.
If nothing else, you can enjoy more of Eddie Vetter...
Just about any track from the album "10" is great. More popular tracks like "Alive" and "Evenflow" are great. "Black" is, more of a slow paced song. "Deep" is good too. "Dissident" from the album Vs...
A lot of stuff to love there.
And yes, we elder people can be silly and foolish, Jo! Fortunately, sometimes we learn new things...
Right, okay, I'm off to buy "10". As for the ukelele album (grunge to ukelele?!) . . . I'll hold back for the moment ;-)I only listen to music in the car and I can't really imagine it as driving music ...
Thanks for the recommendation guys!
Jo, have you tried Kasabian? First album ("Kasabian") and their most recent one, "Velociraptor," are best, I think.

D'you know what? I think I saw the name "Pearl Jam" and for some reason assumed it was RnB.
ReplyDeleteI am justly ashamed of myself!
Which tracks do you recommend, Craig?

Well, you certainly got my attention when your post title came up in my blog feed. (:v>
ReplyDeleteI thought it was going to be about you too, Jeremy. And yet, my head always sings that song when I see the name...
ReplyDeleteAll of 10 and all of Vs, Janine, they're just great albums. Most recently he did a ukelele album my husband loves, but I'm still on the fence about :)
Craig, it does make me wonder what I'm missing out on now - I can't keep up anymore, and my kids don't let me listen to music much.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm increasingly alarmed by how fucking STUPID young people's hairstyles are looking. That can only be a bad sign...
Sorry, Jeremy! Made you jump!
ReplyDelete:-D

Ps: Jo - the hair thing - that is a bad sign. You should start to be very worried!
