Low-Carb Diet: Week 2 results


It's difficult making tofu look interesting ...

Well, my initial two-week ultra-low carb-cleanse period is up. I've noticed that I've a tendency to get dehydrated (probably because I'm not eating loads of fruit like I used to).  But look:

Total weight loss so far: 7 lbs in 14 days!

  1. Mmmmmm tofu ... this coming from a carnivore! I love it. I love how it squeaks in your teeth and how it's squashy like polystyrene ... I could eat tofu every day. I think the secret is to pat it dry before frying it til golden, but maybe everybody does that and I'm just the odd one out for being a tofu freak ... mmmmm hungry.

    And well done on losing 7lbs! That sounds like plenty, no?

  2. Totally agree Nikki. Do you like Haloumi for the same reason? GOrgeous with chili oil, popped under the grill.

    Tofu is getting bad press though, natural toxins etc. I think you're only meant to eat soy 3 times a week?

    7lbs is great, Janine- I'm wondering though, are you excercising at all? From doing WW, I found, if I worked hard and got my 20 mins walk in a day, and I was good, I could lose 3lbs a week.

    But if you're not doing any extra,and the diet isn't onerous, 7lbs is impressive incomparison.

    I know if I just cut out sugar and refined white carbs and walked 20 mins a day, it would make a huge difference. Why is that so hard to do? Why? Agh.

  3. You're so right. It's 10.30 pm and I'm thinking ... "Shall I do my weights? Oh, it's so late! Let's just leave it another day..."

    Goddamn. Eating squeaky cheese is so much easier.
