Time for all good Catholics to take off their clothes and eat pancakes. Or something.
These guys were in my Satyrs folder. I'm not sure they are satyrs but I think they look great. And I'm still going through the corrections for Heart of Flame so I need cheering up. At 11.30 last night I found a plot hole: the characters had skedaddled from a dangerous place leaving all their baggage behind - only they really really need to have something from their baggage with them three chapters further on.
Uhhh....
Uh-oh, and I bet it's the hairdryer—at least that's the thing I always manage to leave behind.
ReplyDeleteThat's uncanny Jeremy - You guessed!
ReplyDelete;-)
46 pages to go...
At least you found the plot hole, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same place now with a book. Editing, yet again.
You could arrange for an improbable coincidence to happen in which they stumble over the exact object they need in a library without requiring there be any explanation as to why it was there just lying on the table waiting to be discovered.
ReplyDeleteWell, it worked for Elizabeth Kostova.

Hooray for Order of the Stick! It rocks!
ReplyDeleteI've finished now. Will celebrate by cutting the hedge.
:-)
Oh no! Maybe you could you improvise with a carry-on?
ReplyDeleteWhat Chris wrote below reminded me of the game Clue: It was Mrs. Peacock, in the library with the candle stick. What a great idea!
Good luck, Janine.
In the library with a candlestick ... I feel a short story coming on...
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same place, having received the author's proofs (my favourite two words in the english language) today, for 'Sarah's Education.' Sarah's turning in circles, hopelessly lost. A girl asks her for directions. She replies, 'Ten blocks south.' Hmmmm...now how does she know that, if she's hopelessly lost...have changed it to a line with the same number of characters, and hope the change will be made. It's all you can do at this point.
ReplyDeleteCraig and Madeline, it's good we're not alone!
